From Pages to Power is Gems to Jewels’ signature literary empowerment program serving youth and young adults ages 14–25. The program uses culturally relevant literature, guided reading, journaling, and facilitated dialogue to strengthen literacy, critical thinking, and personal voice.

Designed for justice-impacted and underserved youth, From Pages to Power creates safe, affirming spaces where participants engage deeply with texts that reflect their lived experiences while expanding perspective, language, and self-confidence.

Grounded in Gems to Jewels’ Empower–Educate–Elevate (E3) Model, the program supports participants in:

   •    Improving reading comprehension and literacy skills
   •    Developing confidence in written and verbal expression
   •    Strengthening critical thinking and emotional awareness
   •    Exploring identity, purpose, and leadership through storytelling

The program is delivered in schools, community settings, and justice-impacted environments, and can be adapted for small groups, cohorts, or structured cycles. Through shared reading and reflection, participants learn to see themselves not only as readers—but as thinkers, storytellers, and leaders.
